What is a strong password?
A strong password is long, random and mixes different types of characters. It contains no dictionary words, names, birthdays or sequences like 123456. The longer and more varied it is, the longer a brute-force attack would take to crack it.

Is this password generator safe?
Yes. Passwords are generated in your browser with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) and are never sent to or stored on any server.
How long should a strong password be?
Use at least 12 characters mixing uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. For important accounts, go for 16 characters or more.
What are ambiguous characters?
They are characters that are easy to mix up, such as O and 0 or l, I and 1. Removing them helps when the password has to be typed or read aloud.
Can I use the same password on several websites?
It is not recommended. If one website leaks your password, all your other accounts are exposed. Generate a different password for each service and use a password manager.
